WHAT IS THE 4TH PERFORMING ARTS ENCOUNTER

Mexico: 4th Performing Arts Encounter (formerly Mexico: Gateway to Americas) is a program of the National Fund for the Culture and the Arts, a branch office of the National Council for the Culture and the Arts, conceived as a platform sustaining and impelling the works of the performing artists of our country. This forum opens every two years for artists to show their work to professionals in the performing arts, national and international, and to propitiate the exchange of ideas and to foster strategies to accomplish tours, circuits and collaborative projects. The program is operated in coordination with The National Center for the Arts, the National Institute of Fine Arts, the Cervantino International Arts Festival and the National Autonomous University of Mexico, through the Cultural Promotion Coordination.

The 4th Performing ArtsEncounter will take place in Mexico City from March 11-15 2009 at the National Center for the Arts (cenart) and at the University Cultural Center and will gather during five days Mexican artists and groups of music, theater, dance and interdisciplinary works, as well as promoters, programmers and cultural festival directors, within the framework of the following activities:
