Since its creation, March 2, 1989, fonca was assigned the following tasks: to support the high quality artistic creation and production, to promote and circulate culture, to increase the cultural values and to preserve and maintain the Nation’s cultural patrimony.
It finances in the professional cultural projects that emerge in the artistic community, offering funds to the creators in order to develop their work without restriction, affirming the exercise of the expression and creation freedoms. Hence, it annually opens public call the artists and creators to participate in its 17 different programs, by presenting proposals to be evaluated by Selection Commissions consisting of high prestige artists and creators.
